Youth Peer Support Programming: School-Based Recovery & Prevention Support

Early intervention, connection, and compassionate support that keeps students engaged and in school.

Person Centered Recovery Services (PCRS) offers trauma-informed, developmentally-appropriate, youth-specific support designed to help young people build resilience, navigate challenges, and feel seen, heard, and safe.

Program Overview

Person Centered Recovery Services (PCRS) provides one-on-one, non-judgmental coaching for students who may be experimenting with or at risk for substance use, including vaping, cannabis, alcohol, and other early risk behaviors.

Our approach is open-door, relationship-driven, and student-centered, ensuring young people feel safe, respected, and supported — without stigma or punishment.

PCRS also partners with schools to create alternative disciplinary pathways that help keep students in the classroom, connected to learning and support rather than suspended or isolated.

Why Schools Partner With PCRS

✓ Lived Experience, Real Credibility

Our youth coaches have personal recovery experience. This allows students to relate more easily, trust faster, and engage more deeply — especially those who resist traditional discipline or counseling.

✓ Student-Centered, Strength-Based Support

Each session is tailored to the student’s goals and immediate needs.
Topics may include:

  • Navigating peer pressure

  • Early substance experimentation

  • Decision-making & problem-solving

  • Emotional regulation

  • Healthy coping strategies

  • Future planning & confidence-building

✓ Collaborative With School Teams

We work alongside counselors, administrators, and support staff to reinforce existing structures — not replace them.
Communication is coordinated and professional while protecting student confidentiality and dignity.
